1) Hospitals are shifting from mass marketing to targeted direct marketing using customer databases to improve patient acquisition, retention, and win-back.
2) Healthcare marketing goals are similar to consumer companies, focusing on getting more patients, retaining current patients, and regaining lost patients.
3) CRM testing for hospitals showed database marketing can cut marketing costs by over 75% while increasing profitability for existing patients and driving more prospects to their facilities.
Continuity of Care Documents: Today’s Top Solution for Healthcare Interoperab...Health Catalyst
While healthcare waits for the expanded data interoperability that FHIR promises, the industry needs an immediate solution for accessing and using disparate data from across the continuum of care. With FHIR potentially several years away, continuity of care documents (CCDs) are the best option for acquiring the ambulatory clinical care data health systems need to close quality gaps today. Because organizations that rely only on claims data to drive quality improvement risk missing out on more that 80 percent of patient information, CCDs are the current must-have answer to interoperability for successful quality improvement.
Microsoft: A Waking Giant In Healthcare Analytics and Big DataHealth Catalyst
In 2005, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare embarked upon a strategic Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) initiative with the Microsoft technology platform as the foundation. Dale Sanders was CIO at Northwestern and led the development of Northwestern’s Microsoft-based EDW. At that time, Microsoft as an EDW platform was not en vogue and there were many who doubted the success of the Northwestern project. While other organizations were spending millions of dollars and years developing EDW’s and analytics on other platforms, Northwestern achieved great and rapid value at a fraction of the cost of the more typical technology platforms. Now, there are more healthcare data warehouses built around Microsoft products than any other vendor. The risky bet on Microsoft in 2005 paid off.
Ten years ago, critics didn’t believe that Microsoft could scale in the second generation of relational data warehouses, but they did. More recently, many of these same pundits have criticized Microsoft for missing the technology wave du jour in cloud offerings, mobile technology, and big data. But, once again, Microsoft has been quietly reengineering its culture and products, and as a result, they now offer the best value and most visionary platform for cloud services, big data, and analytics in healthcare.
In this context, Dale will talk about:
His up and down journey with Microsoft as an Air Force and healthcare CIO, and why he is now more bullish on Microsoft like never before
A quick review of the Healthcare Analytics Adoption Model and Closed Loop Analytics in healthcare, and how Microsoft products relate to both
The rise of highly specialized, cloud-based analytic services and their value to healthcare organizations’ analytics strategies
Microsoft’s transformation from a closed-system, desktop PC company to an open-system consumer and business infrastructure company
The current transition period of enterprise data warehouses between the decline of relational databases and the rise of non-relational databases, and the new Microsoft products, notably Azure and the Analytic Platform System (APS), that bridge the transition of skills and technology while still integrating with core products like Office, Active Directory, and System Center
Microsoft’s strategy with its PowerX product line, and geospatial analysis and machine learning visualization tools

Microsoft in Healthcare Analytics Georgia HIMSS Perficient, Inc.
This document discusses Microsoft's partnership with Perficient and how they help healthcare organizations with business intelligence and analytics using the Microsoft stack. It provides examples of two customer engagements: Meriter Health Systems implemented a cost containment dashboard and integrated clinical and financial systems using Microsoft technologies. DuPage Medical Group leveraged their existing SQL Server infrastructure to encourage self-service reporting and provide advanced analytics capabilities. The document concludes with Perficient's expertise in BI strategies, design, architecture, implementation, education and various disciplines like data integration and warehousing, reporting and analytics.
This document discusses data quality and its importance for business decision making. It defines data quality as ensuring information is fit for its intended purpose and helps data consumers make the right decisions. Poor data quality can significantly impact business performance, with 75% of companies reporting financial losses due to low quality data. The document outlines different data quality needs and metrics for various use cases and decision makers. It also presents examples of companies that have benefited financially from implementing thorough data quality management programs.
The document provides an overview of the 2008 Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) program run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. It discusses that PQRI aims to shift Medicare payments to value-based purchasing by incentivizing reporting of quality measures. Eligible professionals can earn a 1.5% bonus payment by successfully reporting on PQRI measures. The document outlines 119 quality measures eligible for reporting, explains principles of the measures, and provides coding examples. It also discusses additional reporting options like registry-based and EHR-based reporting for PQRI in 2008.
This document provides an overview of clinical data management processes. It discusses the goals of clinical data management which are to provide high-quality, accurate data through processes like case report form design, data entry, validation, and coding. It describes some commonly used clinical data management software and standards/guidelines like 21 CFR Part 11 and SCDM's Good Clinical Data Management Practices. The document is a project report submitted by students to fulfill requirements for a degree at Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi.

The document discusses how business intelligence and big data analytics can help clinicians and hospitals. It describes how new tools like business intelligence have emerged to organize and interpret vast amounts of healthcare information to benefit public health, research, patient care, and hospital operations. Healthcare organizations are now dealing with tremendous amounts of digital data stored in large repositories. Analytics can be used to detect patterns in this large, complex data that are too subtle for humans to observe directly. This can help improve areas like decision making, research, and the development of new treatments and services.
Data science and the use of big data in healthcare delivery could revolutionize the field by decreasing costs and vastly improving efficiency and outcomes. There is an abundance of healthcare data in Canada, but it is mostly siloed and difficult to access due to privacy and security challenges. A crucial stage in clinical research is clinical data management CDM , which produces high quality, reliable, and statistically sound data from clinical trials. This results in a significantly shorter period of time between drug development and marketing. Team members of CDM are laboriously involved in all stages of clinical trials right from commencement to completion. They should be able to sustain the quality standards set by CDM processes by having sufficient process expertise. colorful procedures in CDM including Case Report Form CRF designing, CRF reflection, database designing, data entry, data confirmation, distinction operation, medical coding, data birth, and database locking are assessed for quality at regular intervals during a trial. In the present script, theres an increased demand to ameliorate the CDM norms to meet the nonsupervisory conditions and stay ahead of the competition by means of brisk commercialization of products. With the perpetration of nonsupervisory biddable data operation tools, the CDM platoon can meet these demands. also, its getting obligatory for companies to submit the data electronically. CDM professionals should meet applicable prospects and set norms for data quality and also have the drive to acclimatize to the fleetly changing technology. This composition highlights the processes involved and provides the anthology an overview of the tools and norms espoused as well as the places and liabilities in CDM. Cardiology Centralised web registry presentation by JVS Groupsaketsinghi
Saket Singhi proposes a new approach to improve India's National Intervention Council (NIC) registry for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) procedures by developing a web-based registry system. Currently, the NIC registry lacks standardized data collection, benefits for participating centers, and a centralized clinical database. The new approach would target high-volume centers, provide free software tools for automated data collection, and generate analytical reports to help centers improve quality of care. JVS Group has experience successfully running clinical registries and offers to develop, maintain, and help improve the new NIC registry system.
